Subject:Chinese painting - artist? age?
Posted By: Tim Mon, Sep 24, 2012 IP: 76.108.41.153

The painting is about 36" tall x 12" wide and is rendered on paper. Seems to have very good detail and strong colors, with some toning and foxing to the paper.

I'm thinking the piece is early 20th c., but the painting is unmounted to a scroll or silk backing, so perhaps it was lifted from an older scroll and not remounted.

I will post additional photos once this has posted to the forum.

Thanks for the help.

Japanese rather than Chinese. someone may recognize the artist's name if you post a photo of the signature.

Here are the seal characters:
(z)chang 長 啟 qi
......shou 壽 先 xian
Perhaps someone will help with the Japanese.
