Subject:Is this a Qianlong 1735-1796 Chinese Porcelain/Pottery Boy’s Vase?

Is this a Qianlong 1735-1796 Chinese Porcelain/Pottery Boy’s Vase? The base has a red Qianlong mark which appears to be painted on in red enamel. If anyone out there could add any more information I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Base of vase is signed with Quianlong mark in raised red enamel paint.
The vase has 7 young chinese boys climbing up the side of the vase dressed in classic chinese tunics.
The background has a metallic dark blue glaze to it, and is decorated with a small pink and blue pattern, amongst the pattern can be seen several birds which appear to be cranes or storks.
Good condition, no chips or cracks, vase stands slightly under 18-1/2" tall, base is approx 4-1/2" dia.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is a boys vase, of the sort given to new-arried couple meaning 'hope you have many sons'.

Many different types of Qianlong-reign marks appear on both 19th-century and 20th-century ceramics made in both China and Japan.

This mark in an over-glaze strange red color has nothing to do with when the vase was made.

I would think made within the last 20 years.

Good luck,
Cal

Hello Arjan,
Yes it's exactly the same quality as mine...I wish. ;-))
I actually saw this sale when I was doing research and my heart missed a beat, it was a nice thought while it lasted.
Click on the link to see what I ended up selling it for.
Regards
David
