Subject:Help Identifying Japanese Bronze Vase Inscription & Artist Signature
Posted By: Andrei Sun, Sep 13, 2026 IP: 27.130.118.51

Hello,

I would greatly appreciate some help identifying and translating the inscriptions on the bottom of this Japanese bronze vase decorated with fish.

There are several inscriptions, including what appears to be a commemorative inscription and an artist or maker signature.

I would especially like to know the artist/maker’s name, the meaning of the inscriptions, the approximate date or period of manufacture, and whether the inscription identifies a foundry or organization.

Any information about the history or origin of this piece would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help!
Andrei

Oops,
Correction,
Ichioka Shiun 市岡紫雲 is the correct reading.
