Subject:Kangxi era miniature vase

Hi everyone !
I started to get interested by Chinese ceramics some months ago. I'm learning as much as I can by reading books, articles, websites, and visiting exhibitions. I've also started to purchase some humble pieces (mostly late Qing, though I was lucky to find a piece of Batavia ware), all of them unidentified by the sellers, as a kind of homework !
Some days ago, I stumbled upon this miniature vase (?), at first I thought it was late Qing as well, but my research now points me toward the reign of Kangxi. What do you think ? I was able to find some very similar pieces sold by antique dealers, and another in the Princessehof Leeuwarden Nationaal Keramiekmuseum, sadly with only one blurry photo.
I'm also wondering what those little vases were used for ? They seem to have been very popular during the XVIIIth century (judging by the royal Dresden Collection !), but were they only decorative ?
Anyway, thanks in advance for your help !
