Subject:Seal identification#
Posted By: chud Thu, Jan 08, 2026 IP: 92.184.112.207

Hello there, I can't delete my previous post and I forgot I had submitted the same inquiry back in 2020. Anyway some of my pics appeared flipped back then so I renew my question about another seal. Hoping it shows properly this time. Can you please name the artist ?

Dear Chud,

The painter signature reads: 石松画 - Ishimatsu ga which means: Painted by Ishimatsu. And the red seal I am no sure, but it can be read differently as 寿 (ju or kotobuki) is a auspicious blessing meaning longevity

Best Regards,
Renato

Due to the angle of the canvas, the first two characters are unclear, but the third character is definitely 寫
xx寫 - painted by xx - given name

The seal is clearly 盧 - Lǘ - Chinese surname

I.Nagy

Hello and thanks for your replies. Sadly for each one of them including on other forums it's one more clue and one more name (as Wen Sheng for instance). I'd need to be shown the very same red seal on another work to make sure of the artist name providing it's no generic seal.

Unless someone may come up with an actual proof I fear the painting will stay unidentifiable and therefore of no value.
