Subject:Help with unknown object

Hello everybody!
I need help or at least a direction for further research for this object. Does anyone know what is its purpose, where and when it could have been made. It looks Asian but I am not sure. It looks like a staff of some kind or baton like weapon. Looks to be made of solid 1cm thick ( for the entire length) bronze or brass. It is around 55cm long. Feels heavy and solid - weigh 1.3Kg. It has stamped RS&E.
