Subject:Thai standing Buddha posture
Posted By: David Lein Wed, Jan 08, 2025 IP: 73.68.46.30

Hi—

Could anyone tell me the name of this standing posture and its significance? Additionally, the pedestal is wreathed by two dragons, something I haven’t seen before—any specific significance in terms of meaning or cultural provenance for the bronze? I believe it’s about 50 or 60 years old, and was purchased in Chiang Mai.

Thank you,
David
