I need help to translate Jpanese characters on tiny tablet attached to a wooden bottle. Could this tablet be associated with any of the founding members of the Japanese members of the Japanese immigrants that first settled in New York City, since the bottle says New York, also is there an off chance it could have been exhibited in either of the exhibitions which took place when the Japanese first displayed wares in America?

I am not exaclty a photoshop lizard.But it helps if you could take another picture, change colours, scene, exposure, definition in some photo editor in order to get an image in its contrast. Or maybe you could find a safe transfer to brighten the blurred image.
