Hi All,
17th-18th century hard-paste, blue and white bottle w/ an induced crackle glaze, done in the soft-paste style of crackle glaze Arita wares. upside down fired w/a cleanly squared foot rim, light green color pooling on the interior, fading to white. High iron oxide spotting is evident at the unglazed foot rim.
Some links to crackled glaze wares produced in Arita of a similar period and held at the Freer Gallery of Art. These examples illustrate some distinctions in their make-up w/ the present example, including clay type. Rather than produced in a high-fired vitreous porcelain, the medium chosen of the Arita wares is listed on the site as either soft-paste or stoneware.

Thank you for looking.
Kind regards,
Kevin
