because the painter of this picture shows little control of the ink being applied. for example, compare your close-up of the bamboo joints and branch ends on the main stems to those at the lower left of this "Two Pandas under Bamboo" picture of Wu's: https://www.chinesenewart.com/chinese-artists15/wuzuoren.htm
