Subject:Dating Ming Vase
Posted By: Steve Gridley Fri, Jul 05, 2024 IP: 71.179.62.194

I've been studying this vase and thin it dates from the late Qing Dynasty. Could someone confirm my thoughts or tell me if I'm way off the mark. Thanks.

This is a copy of a Ming vase and unfortunately it's not late Qing but rather late 20th Century.
The decoration is stiffly painted. The colours are far too intense.
The footrim has been artificially dirtied to fool buyers.

Thanks Mark! I was only off by a little over 100 years. I posted due to the foot rim and perfect circles around the mark. Thanks for the insight on the intensity of the colors and stiffly painted.
