Subject:Possibly European bowl with fake Chinese mark
Posted By: Kat Fri, Mar 15, 2024 IP: 178.238.10.83 I have a feeling I've seen this mark before. Is this possibly European porcelain using a fake Chinese mark? |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Mar 16, 2024 The mark identifies the plate as made by the Japanese Seiji Kaisha (Pure Water) Company that operated from 1879-1897, and according to some accounts possibly later. Google gotheborg.com and select ‘Japanese Marks’ and then ‘Fukagawa’ for an in-depth account of the company. |
