I thought it to be Japanese as it was marked Japan.

The mark reads: 頂拉吉 which is translated by Google with: 頂 Itadaki 拉 Hishige 吉 Kichi.
The last Kanji 吉 can also be Yoshi (native Japanese) and the first 2 頂拉 might be Ratsuchö (Sino-Japanese).
However, I could not found any reference about this mark and what the exact translation must be.
So perhaps others can find out something more.
Regards,
Martin.

Thanks Martin.
I do hope someone else or I.Nagy gives further information on this mark.
Regards.
