Subject:Japanese Satsuma Vase, Signed, Exhibition 1893 Fair Building?
Posted By: Jen Thu, Jun 06, 2019 IP: 2600:1702:4530:94e0: Hi, I have this gorgeous Satsuma vase. I found the same vase in different color that says it might be from the 1893 Worlds Fair in Chicago but never confirmed. |

Posted By: Jen Sat, Jun 08, 2019 I didn't think to research the St. Louis 1904 Worlds Fair! I am in St. Louis, I just found this photo of the Missouri State Building from that fair, and this sure looks like it might be the building, do you agree? |

Posted By: Martin Michels Sun, Jun 09, 2019 Since the photo wasn't there, I've looked at some pictures of the Missouri State Building, but the tower and the windows do not match, unless it's partly rebuild later. Or it's an artist's impression of the building. |

Posted By: G Verlinden Fri, Nov 15, 2024 The building shown on the vase is the U S Government building from the 1893 worlds fair in Chicago. I have collected items from this fair for a number of years. The archetctural elements are all there. You can find pictures of this building online. |
