A black stone Cham period Lingam from Vietnam. Heavily patinated.
The lingam is Shiva, worshipped in phallic form. The base represents Brahma, the middle is Vishnu and the top is Shiva. So the essential trinity of Creator, Preserver and Destroyer are represented in one simple sculpture.
