| The southern face of Mt. Kailas viewed in a canopy of clouds from top of Chiu Gompa near Lake Manasarovar. Just to see Kailas is a blessing; to circumambulate the mountain once is said to erase the sins of a lifetime. To most pilgrims it is enough to know the mountain is holy; they do not ask why, but take its presence as a blessing and go through tremendous hardships to be touched by its power. |
