Prayer wheel temple, on the kora of the Jokhang
Temple
July 1994
Abutting the Jokhang Temple’s northern walls, this small temple houses a giant prayer wheel. As Tibetans walk the kora, they frequently set these wheels in motion. Each rotation releases the prayer stamped on the drum and paper inside into the cosmos, earning the worshipper religious merit. |
