Mongolian Costume

A Mongolian noble’s ceremonial robe of yellow silk damask, probably Russian, with decorative lapel of of black velvet, red Chinese silk brocade and green & gold brocade. The horseshoe cuffs are of purple, Chinese brocade. The costume includes a Qing style winter hat with crown of blue damask and upturned brim of black silk satin, a pair of decorated leather riding boots and a traditional belt set with chopstick and knife case and small box for flints. The belt set is decorated with a Russian silver coin with the head of Czar Nicholas II.
