The Goddess Brahmani

Brahmani is sometimes described as the daughter of Brahma. She sits gracefully in virasana on the pedestal with her left leg crossed over the right. Her uppermost right hand holds the prayer beads. The goddess has a begin expression on her face. She has a narrow waist, rounded breasts and wears a multi-tiered belt, elaborate necklace with bracelets on her wrists. Brahmani is one of the Seven Mothers (sapta matrikas), Pandyan Period, 9th century, from the district of Thirunelevi, Tamil Nadu.
