A
pair of ovoid cloisonné vases worked in delicate hues in wireless
and wired techniques on pale gray grounds. Decorated on the fronts
with mandarin ducks in repose mid icy reeds and on the reverse a duck
fishing beneath the transparent waters. (For a similar pair of vases, see Dragon King of the Sea from the John R. Young Collection, Ashmolean Museum Oxford, 1991, pgs. 60-1.) |
