Knapton Rasti Asian Art

China, 7th-10th century

The head and long neck twisting back on itself, the front two legs pulled up underneath the shoulders, the rear two pulled under the body, the short tail flicked over the rear left haunch, the prominent ribs carefully incised, the polished stone with parallel inclusions and fissures, wood stand.
