Burmese Buddha

Burmese Buddha within a Pagoda, A Burmese Buddha within a Pagoda. Burma, patinated bronze with traces of gilding. ca. 1750 AD. 11.5" h., 3.5" w. at base. This item was authenticated by Mr. Robert Jacobson curator of Asian Art at the Mpls. Inst. of Art, on 2-2-96; found by the owner in North Thailand in 1995: approx. 250 years old. and is unique in its style, as it incorporates some Lao characteristics. This would have been used in a home altar, and the owner would have regilded it once a year out of respect. It is made of bronze. I entered this image in a contest in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and it won a ribbon for it's condition and uniqueness. length 4"/10cm. Price: $700.
