One of a pair of painted manuscript covers depicting enshrined Hindu and Buddhist divinities on an exhuberant foliated ground typical of 15th/16th century Newari painting. A complete religious text dedicated to Avalokiteswara, written in gold and silver on indigo stained paper and with two painted folios, apparently by the same hand, accompanies these covers and is dated to the mid-16th century.
