Fig. 29:
Experimental reconstruction of the Medical College on Chakpori, Lhasa

Façade East
Research and drawing by Knud Larsen
2015

This is, for the time being, the final attempt at a reconstruction. It was presented at the IATS-seminar in Bergen, Norway 2016. A comparison with the 2009 proposal shows that the entrance to the main building is no longer in the centre of the façade but has moved about 1.5 m to the right in the picture. This is because it was detected that the façade apparently has been extended by about 1.5 m to the left. The reason for this is not known but one can suppose that a need for more space has come up during construction. The tower is supposed to be situated symmetrically in relation to the Prayer Hall. Further the mezzanine is added and with it a roof and a large window giving light to the Prayer Hall. To be seen here are also the stairs up to the upper level of the tower.
