Posted By: rat Mon, Feb 06, 2017 This is a reproduction of a scroll in the National Palace Museum Taiwan by Ming painter Qiu Ying, titled "Awaiting the Ferry on an Autumn River". Your friend likely purchased it in the NPM shop or received it as a gift from someone who did. The inscription is by the Qianlong emperor, and about six of the deals in the upper left are also his. The painting is not signed by Qiu but includes a seal attributed to him. It was also owned by two of China's most prominent collectors: Xiang Yuanbian (Ming) and An Qi (Qing), whose seals are also on the painting. It likely entered the imperial collection from An Qi's collection. Actual size if you want to compare yours is 155.4 x 133.4cm |
