Posted By: mikeoz Sun, Jan 31, 2021 These are not candy dishes, they are ink stones, to be used to grind ink for calligraphy or painting. If you examine them closely you will see three small channels leading from the grinding surface to the circular moat whee the ink can collect. These appear very fine specimens and traditionally in China would belong in a Scholar's studio. |
