My tentative reading of signature and seal,
栖亭 - Seitei

However, I cannot find an artist with that name.

With regards,
I.Nagy

IMO, the first character reads 梅 (bai or ume). I'm struggling with the second character.

The girl is depicted in the 'nihonga' (日本画) style, Showa period.

Guy.

Dear Guy,
Thank you for your help.
After a few day of thinking, I came to the next results;
1, The signature according to the rules of of calligraphy clearly reads; 栖華 (Seika)
2, As of the seal, the first character is; 西
(The radical No. 75 - 木偏 - is omitted as a standart practice at seal cutting)
The second character 華 is shown in a perplexing cut form - it rather looks 亭 - so much so that it deceived me too.

However, nor is there any records about an artist with this 栖華 (Seika) art-name (gagō.

Though, art-names beginning with character 栖 were quite common in the late Meiji, Taisho and early Shōwa perods - like, 栖鳳、栖圃、栖阜、栖鶯
etc. There are a lot of forgotten artist from that period.

With regards,
I.Nagy
