Subject:Kogo or kobako
Posted By: Sally Fri, Aug 21, 2020 IP: 85.255.237.212 This is one of my favourite pieces , it's about 2x3" / 5×7.5cm. It 's a lacquer box for holding incense, either a kogo or a kobako, I'm not sure which. As far as I understand it , the kogo was for use during the tea ceremony whereas the kobako was not. I think it's either late 19th or early 20th century. |
