Subject:Satsuma Vase
Posted By: Lorna Tue, Aug 04, 2020 IP: 146.198.219.11

Hi,I would love to know what time period this vase is from. I can't find one anywhere with the same marking underneath. I assume its not worth much due to the damage. But its such a lovely piece I would love to know more. Thank you in advance for any information.

Your vase is a so-called Kyo-Satsuma vase (Kyoto Satsuma) from the 1930's.
The marking starts with 左 (Hidari = left) or 右 (Migi = right), followed by a number, but is too vague on the photo to decipher completely.
Regards,
Martin.
