When flipped 180 degrees and read down and across from the top right, this photo reveals an apocryphal Ming dynasty mark of 'Made during the Xuande Reign' (Xuan de nian zhi - 宣德年製). The 'de' (德) character used here is anomalous to the period, when the variant '徳' was used in reign marks.
