Subject:Antique Chinese Chop Seal
Posted By: Bill Jacobs Mon, May 25, 2020 IP: 2601:8c1:8300:9860:4

Any help identifying the age or the translation of this piece would be appreciated...it was a garage sale find. I believe it is carved soap stone with a foo dog on top. It stands 3-1/4" tall.thank you

It is indeed a seal. Probable Soapstone. Tourist type ware.

Not antique. Not a Fu dog, but a Tiger. Character on the side of the stone - Tiger. Character on base - Fu, Happiness.

Typical of seals carved and sold in markets to tourists.
