No.1 Print
An illustrated leaf from the "Sutra of Filial Piety" - an apocryphal sutra compiled in China for exercise in Buddhist apologies.
The translation of the first two lines on the right side,
假使有人為於爺孃亦以利刀割其心肝血液
遍地不調通苦經百千却猶不能報父母深息
If someone for the sake of his father and mother used a knife to out his heart and liver,so that the blood flowed and covered the ground, and if he continued this way to do this for hundreds and thousands of kalpas, never once complaining about the pains, that person
still would not have repaid the deep kindness of his parents.
No.2 print,
妙法 - Saddharma - Lotus Sutra
本明比丘 - Benming Bhikku - Monk Benming
極蓮八人金ⅹ金西主 - Utmost Lotus Eight x x?
With regards,
I.Nagy
