Subject:Posy Bowl?
Posted By: Shea Tue, Oct 23, 2018 IP: 173.79.179.28 I am trying to get more information about this bowl. It was assessed as Chinese stoneware made strictly for export. But I want to understand what details point to Chinese. I cannot find any similar bowls online and the internet is basically my only resource since I am new to this. Any information that helps me to understand what marks this bowl as Chinese would be greatly appreciated. |

If this piece is small, it might be one thing; large another. The elevated feet suggest it might have been a censer, though the form of the bowl itself is found in trays for narcissus and other plant bulbs that sprout in water, which are usually larger (upwards of nine inches) or brush washers (sometimes smaller but not always with feet). Sooo...? |
