Subject:Needing Chinese Calligraphy & Seal Marks From Fan Painting Translated
Posted By: Gary Knudtzon Mon, Mar 18, 2019 IP: 97.126.96.190 This is a Copy Photograph of a Ming Dynasty Fan Painting by HE LIAN. I own a Scroll Painting Possibly by the Same Artist and I am in the process of researching to determine if my Painting is the same Ming Dynasty HE LIAN Artist. I found this Fan Painting by Him in a Chinese Palace Museum Book and want the Calligraphy and Seal Marks Translated to help in my ongoing Research. Thank You for any Help you can give me! Sincerely, Gary K |

Posted By: rat Tue, Mar 19, 2019 The calligraphy just reads "written by He Lian", the first seal reads He Lian, the second seal is his zi: Yuanjie. The seal at the left edge looks partly cut off by the matting where the fan has been remounted since it was impressed and is a collector's seal. Nice picture. |
