Subject:Chinese ink stone

I have recently bought this large (31,5 x 25,5 cm) ink stone. Any information about inscription on rear side of ink stone would by welcome. My opinion is thtat it was made at end of 19th century. Am I right?

Could be the 28th year of the Republic of China
1939, or just simply 1928. I think it is the
former (1939)

old friend 老友　is correct (not 走友　walking friend)
