Subject:Japanese vase identification and date / estimating value

Hello,
I found this vase and i was wondering if someone with more experience could help me find out what kind of vase it is and if it is worth something?
I do not want to sell it, but i am curious for the value. Thank you all so much!

This is a Satsuma(-like) vase with a stamped Maruni 丸二 signature, date circa 1930. Earlier Maruni ware had handwritten signatures.

Maruni Shoten was founded by Jinjo Yukitake with 6 of his employees as a joint-stock company around 1915-1920. After 2 years Yukitake sold his shares to the others and they continued Maruni company. Later the company name became: "Maruni & Co, Kobe, Japan. Manufacturer & Dealer in all kinds of porcelain and Satsuma ware.
This company continued to operate until 1938 and probably still after WWII for a short time.

Moriage Satsuma vase with "Shimazu" clan cross mark over cartouche, Meiji or Taisho period. Unfortunately value loss due to damage. David.

Hoi Willem,

What you have is a Satsuma like vase with a moriage decoration. Beside the Shimazu family crest (the cross on top) it shows 2 characters with a possible meaning of "Futaji" . Dating: around 1920, I think, value: mwah… forget it and enjoy if you like it.

Arjan, no offense, but to prevent confusion: the mark is Maruni.

Futaji is wrongly copied by many from the Gotheborg website. The Gotheborg site still has these 2 characters cataloged under "Futaji", although there is apparently already doubt, cause the text says: "possible reading Futaji".

Literally the 1st character 丸 is "Maru" in KUN-reading (native Japanese) or "Gan" in ON-reading (Chinese reading of a kanji character).
