Hello Everyone
Marked as 1897. Is that possible. I will encle the seal and general view. The scroll isn't in the best of shape. The markings shown when rolled are on the back with a circled 63 which I find a little odd. Its a curious work of art though. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Best wishes David

It rather looks like an unfinished sketch、

華堂　-　Kadō
Seal,
華堂画印　-　Picture seal of Kadō

Most probably Kida Kadō　喜田華堂　1802-1879
Painter of late Edo, early Meiji period from Nagoya、served as offical painter at the Owari clan

A clear picture from the mounting inscripion would reveal more about the history of scroll.
