I clearly see minerals leaching out of
the unpolished areas. I understand your point.
Very hard to recreate this effect.

Hello John,

Thank you very much for your point of view on this piece. I have uploaded the picture of the pittings that I took in few weeks ago. Sign of natural corrosion can be seen cleary.

OK, thanks for clarifying. I first thought it was a link to a blog with jades from museums or a renowed auction house or dealer. I wrote a longer message some days ago, but the computer closed down just as I was about to post it.

But they are very nice pieces. I'm a little sceptical about the Han dynasty jade bear though. Are you certain about the authenticity of that one? I would like to draw your attention to a sale of a Han dynasty jade bear at Sotheby's:

Here in Denmark two neolithic amber bear carvings in the national museum collection were identified as fakes some years ago. First and second picture below show the two fakes. Third one shows the real one.
