Subject:Artist Identification
Posted By: Connor C Sat, Aug 26, 2017 IP: 2605:6000:f512:3300:

I recently came upon a couple of pieces of art and I am looking for any information about the attached signatures. Even language of each would be appreciated.

In the images, the standalone stamp is on the same piece as the image with 3 lines of text. It is from a ~6 foot wall scroll of a village scene, the stamp is at the bottom left.

Thank you in advance.

1st picture reads,
江作青羅帯 River making a blue band
山如碧玉簪 Mountain is like a jasper hairpin
Citation from a famous poem written by Han Yu
(768-824) a Tang Dynasty writer and poet.
These two lines are frequently used by painters
and calligraphers.
戊寅筆夏初 Earth Tiger Year (..1878,1938,1998)
Painted at Beginning of Summer
志偉 題 Title by Zhi Wei (Signature)
A courtesy name、without family name.
Seal,
志偉 Zhi Wei
2nd picture, (Vertical oblong seal) reads,
山水寄情 Mountain and water give expression
of feeling.
This is a kind of nom de plum seal.
I could not find any associations that would lead to to a knon artist, neither from coutesy
name, nor from the seals.
3rd picture, cursive script reads,
小雲兆於西渓 Xiao Yun Zhao at Xixi
Xiao Yun Zhao is the name of artist
Xixi is a place name in Hangzhou,Zhejiang.
Seal、
I can not read it.
I could not find artist under this name.
Sorry, not to be of more help.
With regards,
