Subject:IS THIS VASE CHINESE OR JAPANESE, APPROXIMATE AGE?
Posted By: Ara Sat, Jun 24, 2017 IP: 2605:e000:908b:3000: So I've posted a few things on this site before (mostly related to kanji character translation), received a large number of view, but no replies! I figured I'd give it another try and see if anyone out there can help me with this vase. It appears to be a Far Eastern origin and looks like it has good age, but there aren't any markings on it whatsoever. It's a rather heavy pottery piece with a crackled, caramel yellow glaze. Can anyone out there pinpoint its origin (Chinese, Japanese?) and approximate age based on the vase's form and firing method? Any thanks would be appreciated! |

Posted By: Ara Thu, Jun 29, 2017 Thank you so much for the message Martin, and for taking the time to have a look at some of my posts. After posting a few items and not receiving any responses, I began to sense that this forum was more of a 'club' where outsiders were ignored, so much thanks for clearing up that fallacy. Actually, it seems this time I got lucky because another individual attributed the vase as Thai Sawankhalok, c 1500! Neat! Thanks again! |
