Subject:Chinese Teapot - Please Help Identify Marks
Posted By: SamR Wed, May 24, 2017 IP: 24.236.80.43

Chinese Brown Yixing Teapot W/Immortal Head Finial The teapot is double signed, underneath the lid with a four character mark and also on the bottom of the kettle with a six character seal mark.
Measures 6.75"W x 4.5" diameter x 3.25"H.
Can anyone could tell me what the marks read. I was told it was an antique Chinese Yixing teapot when I bought it. Thanks so much for your time and information

The name is Shen Fu and either Mo or Mei. Either could be appropriate, Mo is a given name from ancient times, while men is a younger sister.

沈福妺制 or 沈福妹制

It looks as if it could have been artificially aged. It looks like added colour has been applied to the base.
