Subject:Signature on large Satsuma vase
Posted By: Steve Wed, Dec 12, 2012 IP: 50.32.39.77 Can anyone read the signature on this vase? I'm curious as to who it may be, and what time period. The vase is 16.5 inches tall, more photos linked below. Thanks! |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Dec 15, 2012 The mark reads down from the top right as "Imperial Japan, Kyoto, Made by Kinkozan" (Dai Nippon, Kyoto, Kinkozan Zo). Kinkozan was a well known studio operating in Kyoto during the late Meiji period (1868-1912). |
