Subject:Marks on vases

Hi, can someone tell me what the marks translate to.
As the vases are identical (scene near a bridge on one side, and flowers on the other), I wonder if these are mantlepieces and the marks are simply 'left' and 'right' (or something in those lines), as I think remember seeing on other pieces n the past.
And does it have any age to it? Or is it just a (fairly) modern (tourist) piece?
