Subject:Reading of Signature
Posted By: Irwin Sat, Apr 06, 2024 IP: 174.127.209.134

Would appreciate opinions on whether these signatures appearing on Japanese small (postcard-size) c. 1930s shin hanga prints might be those of the artist Nishimura Hodō 西村蒲堂. Note, the first signature shown is a confirmed signature 蒲堂 of Nishimura Hodō.

Pic.1,
蒲堂 - Hodō
Pic.2,
廣重画 - Hiroshige-ga
Pic.3,
福太 - Fukuta - I can't identify it.

With regards,

The middle one reads "Hiroshige ga" which indicates that not all the prints are Shin Hanga. Without pictures of the prints, which Hiroshige can't be determined.

Cheers,
Stan
