This is one of a set of seven 16" x 16" paintings of various subjects by the same artist. Can anyone tell me who this is?

Chai Rui 柴睿　1957(1953) -
Graduated from the Art Department of Xi'an Institute of Education, he is a member of the Shaanxi Branch of the Chinese Artists Association and the vice president of the Shaanxi Calligraphy and Painting Association, Resides in Xi'an.

There seems to be a problem with his date of birth as a lot of sites lost him as born 1975?

Do you know which is correct?

To complicate things I've just located an article from The Guardian by John Windsor dated March 12th 2006 about the artist which clearly states born in 1953?

Can anyone clarify this?
