Subject:Bowl with indiscernible mark
Posted By: Bry C Wed, Mar 20, 2024 IP: 2600:1003:b015:98a0:

Hi all - the pictured is a piece that has been in the family for many years, so we are certain it isn’t too modern, but have no idea what the mark and / or pattern is or the history of the piece. Any information would be welcome!

In my opinion the mark is the logo (orchid) of Fukagawa 深川 Koransha 香蘭社 (Scented Orchid Company), which was used from the start of Koransha in 1875 and is still used.
See pictures.
Probably made somewhere around 1900.
Regards,
Martin.

Your bowl is Japanese with a Fukagawa Company floral mark of ‘Koransha’ (The Scented Orchid Company), probably dating to the late Meiji period (1868 - 1912).

Best regards,

Bill H.
