Subject:Japanese? plate
Posted By: SallyTD Wed, Feb 28, 2024 IP: 51.6.82.104

Hi , I've looked all over for the mark on this porcelain 10" plate. The style of the decoration looks to me vaguely reminiscent of Nabeshima , hence my idea that it could be Japanese.
Any help to identify the mark would be very welcome.
Thank you

This is a mark of Seiji Kaisha, the Pure Water Company (1879-Ca 1905). See the Fukagawa section under Japanese Marks at gothrborg.com.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thank you Bill , I'd looked on Gotheborg but somehow missed it.
Grateful as ever for your help
