Subject:Seals on a Song / Yuan Style painting
Posted By: Casey Mon, Feb 01, 2021 IP: 168.91.196.59

Hello,

I have a chinese silk painting with several Seals that I would need help to identify. I do see the "Da" symbol in a couple and wonder if they might be from the imperial collections. Very curious to know if any can be translated. Also if anyone knows the style of this I would be interested to hear. I know it is a classical painting but could it be a ming era rendition of a song painting? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Casey

seal at top left reads tianlaige, which refers to the collection of Xiang Yuanbian, a Ming collector. IF someone else hasn't identified the picture and therefore pointed you to the seals already, post a clear image of the painting itself, and then try taking photos of the seals either in black and white or with a filter on, because they aren't legible as you have posted them.

Thank you, Rat. I will actually see if I can edit these in photoshop to make them more clear. I see this collector was quite a connoisseur. I will post more pictures soon. I did earlier post a picture of the whole painting. I hope it has shown up. Thank you again!
