Who is the manufacturer? Approximate manufacturing period? Thank you

The use of the word "Nippon" suggests a date between 1890 (McKinley Tariff Act) and 1920.

There are marks with a G or GC, which stood for "Gift Craft", a Toronto based Canadian company established in the 1940's and still active.
But I don't think it's the case here.
