Posted By: MB Fri, Oct 16, 2020 IP: 2804:214:8602:b251:b

Hello all,

I need help with a small lot of Satsuma vases, since i don't know much about this subject.

Is it possible to identify the author on this one?
any guess about quality? date?

Thanks a lot!

I believe the mark reads from the top right as 'Great/Imperial Japan, Made by Fukuyama' (Dai Nihon/Nippon, Fukuyama Sei) and dates from circa the early Showa period (1926-89). However, wares with similar marks also are seen online with the artist's name rendered as 'Fukuzan'. Maybe the forum's Japanese experts can tell us which is correct.

Best regards,

Bill H.
